THE BAND PREVIOUSLY APPLIED TO MEN'S TEAMS AS WELL. WHAT LAWMAKERS CHANGE THAT SAYING THEY DON'T WANT TO STOP ANY FEMALE STUDENTS FROM JOINING MEN'S TEAMS. &gt;&gt; PROPONENTS SAY THIS IS AN EFFORT TO KEEP WOMEN SPORTS LIMITED TO BIOLOGICAL WOMEN. Two new bills aimed at changing North Carolina's rules for voting, and how elections are administered, are expected to quickly advance in the state Senate after an initial debate Wednesday.

THE OTHER BILLS AIMED AT THE STATE BOARD OF ELECTIONS THAT WOULD LET LAWMAKERS NOT THE GOVERNOR APPOINTS THE BOARD WOULD HAVE AN EVEN NUMBER OF MEMBERS FOR FROM EACH PARTY. CURRENTLY THE RULES SAY THAT WHOEVER OCCUPIES THE GOVERNOR'S MANSION GETS A 3 C MAJORITY ON THAT PORT. >> PROTESTERS AND DEMOCRATIC LAWMAKERS SPOKE OUT AGAINST THESE BILLS LAST NIGHT CALLING THEM A POWER GRAB THAT WOULD RESTRICT VOTING ACCESS. Two men were injured in a shooting near a hotel on New Bern Avenue in Raleigh on Thursday morning.

Good morning. I'm meteorologist Elizabeth Gardiner. We're looking at a pleasant morning. It's a little bit warmer than it was yesterday and a little bit muggier too. Let's jump over and take a look at future cast and you can see partly cloudy skies showing up first thing this morning and that's going to be the case through a good bit of the day today. We'll pause it there at nine o'clock, a good bit of sunshine and then partly cloudy there at noon. Once we get to mid to late afternoon, we have the chance of a few isolated thunderstorms popping up. We're giving it about a 30% chance those could pop up in any part of the viewing area. But you can see there will be just isolated. We're not looking at a whole lot of rainfall out there for us today. Our monkey meter this morning sitting at tolerable at about 62 yesterday. It was more in the comfy zone. It was hot yesterday though. But if you could find a shady spot, it felt pretty good. It's creeping up a little bit today. So you may notice the humidity. It will be fairly tolerable. Again tomorrow Saturday and Sunday too should be on the drier side. We get into next week, the muggy meter is going to go up, but our temperatures will go down as we have a better chance for rain. You're headed down to the beaches over the weekend. It's looking nice. We should see fairly dry conditions all across the state. An isolated thunderstorm can pop up inland from the beaches, you know, along that sea breeze front. But temperatures up and down the coast should be in the low eighties for highs on Saturday and Sunday and the mountains. Same story there too. You should see a good bit of sunshine. 82 in Asheville, temperatures are very comfortable. 74 on Saturday in Boone and a little cooler as you get into some of the higher elevations down around falls at 71. Check in our looking at mostly below normal temperatures. It's not going to be terribly hot for us. Getting into the weekend, we will see the potential for some temperatures climbing to around 90 or so, but especially getting into next week, we may see a low pressure system developing to bring us a better chance of rain. So you can see Wednesday there at four o'clock, Wednesday is actually the first day of summer and our high temperature could be back into the upper seventies. The flip side of that is rain, but you know, we are starting to dry out so we could use some rain around here.
