A man is facing charges after stealing a bulldog named Blue and selling the dog on Facebook Marketplace, according to the Wake County Sheriff's Office.

Wake County deputies are looking for a stolen French bulldog.

The sheriff's office launched an investigation on Friday for the dog named Blue.

According to the sheriff's office, Markil Jeffreys knows the owner of Blue and sold the dog on Facebook Marketplace to an unknown buyer.

Jeffreys, 24, is charged with felony larceny of a dog and felony obtaining property by false pretense. He received a $20,000 secured bond.

The sheriff's office said the alleged crime happened on June 1.

Blue is valued at $4,500, according to the sheriff's office.
