Created with the help of their teacher Justin Holmes, the teens showcase a wide variety of incredible talents – dancing, a wide variety of instruments and of course drums.
The catchy video is picking up steam on social media, with over 15,000 views and several hundred likes, comments and shares.
The video features talented dancers, including one student in full-on Michael Jackson regalia, dancing with those familiar Jackson moves in front of a vibing drumline of pounding bass and snare drums. Lights are flashing in the background as students take turns in the spotlight on stage, beating their drums or playing saxophone while a crowd of costumed students dance wildly behind them.
You'd almost never know it was a school gymnasium – except for the words Smithfield-Selma painted proudly in the background.
Holmes says he feels the students deserve attention and credit for their talent, dedication and hard work
"These kids work extremely hard every year, and I think we always talk about the bad things in high schools, but we don’t talk enough about how awesome these kids are," writes Holmes. "They are truly special!
