A reunion two months in the making had a young girl in Michigan excited to travel all the way to North Carolina.

Addy Jacobson's pet cat "Cinnamon" ran away while the family was on vacation in eastern North Carolina back in April.

"I was really sad, and I didn't really have any hope, but I started praying to God, and then it just happened," Addy said.

Addy took a 15-hour car ride with her family to get the answer to her prayers.

Cinnamon escaped from the family's RV during their stay at the Twin Lakes Campground in Chocowinity. This week, those in the community rallied to help find their furry friend, much to the family's delight.

"I filled that trap full of prayer, filled it with food that Cinnamon liked, and the next morning, he was in the trap," said Sandy Greene of finding the cat.

Addy's mom, Andrea Jacobson, said she is thankful for the campground residents and her family now feels complete again.

"This past month-and-a-half has been really hard with the whole family, but the kids especially," said Andrea Jacobson. "It just feels like we can get back to normal."

Addy said she can't wait to return home and cuddle with Cinnamon.
